Sandrine’s class is an energetic combination of release-based and Cunningham techniques, drawing on her choreographic language. Using oppositions to improve body and spatial awareness, it explores the use of the weight to develop strength and fluidity in movement while playing with dynamics and musicality.
Born in France, Sandrine started her training at the Conservatory National Superior of Dance (Lyon) before pursuing her training in Germany as part of the European D.A.N.C.E programme (directed by Forsythe, McGregor, Preljocaj and Flamand) and graduating from Palucca Hochschule Dresden with a Masters Degree. Performing with the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz (Germany) and Phoenix Dance Theatre (UK), she has worked with various choreographers such as Galili, C. Bruce, Veldman, Watson, Henning Paar, Sansano Ramirez, Finn, Thorpe and many more. Throughout her career, she has developed her own choreographic language, creating work on companies and youth groups. She is now based in Leeds working as a freelance dance artist and choreographer, as well as studying for an MA in choreography at Central School of Ballet.
